Some central Lower North island events coming up very soon.

19th Feb is playday at Manfeild, followed by

20th Feb 1/4 mile drags at Law's Road in Dannevirke

A good opportunity for those to get together for a weekend camping trip. I'll ask Matt how much room he has at the farm for tenting :D

I am thinking of heading up on Friday, after work

Project Black will be making an appearance on the 19th at the Track :D ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM

No as keen to enter into the drag at this stage since i'm not even sure if the thing will still be going, i must get a turbo radiator for it yet and get that installed and bled. Also can you sort out my fuse for the fans, I'd rather had fans on the day to cool the thing down

I haven't had confirmation from Matt yet, in regards to accomodation/tenting, etc...

That HD clutch would be ideal for those mean launches/skids at Dannevirke, unless it rains...but usually the weather there is ok.

The coupe won't be ready for either event :(

Looking at a replacement gearbox, hopefullly before MM in April it's all sorted and re-tuned.

it was good to see the BC5s out there doing their thing and they're still competitive with the later model cars that's for sure. Bazzas car sat nice n flat in the corners...........and WM had the time of his life too.........he got the bug now!! I didn't run coilovers this time just the billies but they held up ok. I got the car sideways in a few of those corners. Coilovers, semi slicks, and baffled or gated sump and should be able to shave some time off

I really enjoyed the day, was good to have a great bunch of people out there with me, reckon it made the day... Wanted to crack the 200 clicks mark and was stoked when the RSM recorded a top speed of 211 (RSM has been calibrated to a Navman GPS unit) I had some fun racing Joe around the track. the semi slicks made a big difference as well as the under car mods for handling. Felt great in the corners and i manged to pass a couple of other people on the day

As you can see from the video the car wasn't too happy in Joe video. I had to pull out of that session due to the car not being happy on boost.

NOTE: i believe that the smoke is fuel related, it was chocking me so much i had to leave the garage for at lest 15 mins. The car was running for less than 30 seconds and produced all that smoke.

Playday - Subaru engine wasn't too happy

There was SOOOO much smoke it was visible from outside

Have noticed today that the O2 sensor wires were completed melted through so that might have caused some of the issues. Something i found interesting was that i put in 5L of oil and 7L came out, and had a very strong fuel smell to it. Engine will be coming out and dismantled to check out what has actually happen. PLUS oil through the FMIC and AFM

REBUILD TIME more probably, time to slap some V4 STI heads on

Before the next track i hit I'm going to get that link in the car to give it some more power :)

So wonder where that extra 2L of oil came from?

I've never had more than 5L drain out after a track event, it usually ends up coming out the BOV, getting in the intercooler or the piping.

How would fuel get in the oil?

Past the pistons. Either worn bores or worn rings, or both. Would explain all that smoke too, burning oil.
