Yes I have done that,
It was a while ago when i worked as a mechanic,
Thoughts - achieved the space I was looking for & haven't had any issues or missed having it in there.

I can’t imagine the process is that hard, you def want a donor car to spend time with, as there’ll be a surprising amount of hard line to swap across... Use the opportunity to put a BH booster in.

Blighter is factory non ABS, and while I have locked up momentarily numerous times (while bedding the 4-pots in, on the grit, black ice, and snow etc) it hasn’t really been an issue, and it’s not hard to control. These early ABS units are also pretty shit compared modern ABS also, and that’s not even mentioning the relays that weld themselves on... fire-risk much?

Bleeding the factory ABS can be a nightmare too, you're really supposed to have the factory diagnostic tool so you can get the ABS pump to cycle and bleed all the air out properly. Also the potential for more leaks, have had them fail internally and externally before.

apparently this is a big no according to the several mechanics i tried to get a warrant for it thru.
they say ABS must go back in or needs to be certified which is sposed to be pretty difficult.
dont know if any of this true or not, but now have 'unwarrantable'vehicle.
so if u do this i guess make it look as factory as possible before taking in for WOF

That is of course the official view. But if you do it properly, using all factory parts, and no bodge jobbing - there should be no problem, and no way to tell it has been done.
