Hi all,

Over the last little while I've been collating information on RS Liberty/Legacy BC5 build numbers.

Have gone fairly in depth on Australian/NZ New RS Turbos of which there is not too many.

https://infogr.am/aunz_rs_build_stats

Due to the quantity of JDM cars built I haven't gone any further than how many were built in a specific variant for a specific model year.

https://infogr.am/bc...5_build_numbers

I was quite surprised by some of the quantities here. All makes for rather interesting reading.

I've also done BD5/BG5 down to TS variants

https://infogr.am/bd5_and_bg5-28060

and lastly just turbo BE5/BH5 variants.

https://infogr.am/be5_bh5-588314060

All of this info is straight out of FAST II database files so I'd say it'll be the most accurate info you'd find anywhere.

Very nice! Good work. And I finally got build numbers for the GTB ltd.

<Shale>: Blighter doesn't really have an accelerator pedal, it's more just a loudness pedal. You can change volume, but you won't go any faster.

<mjlqtown>: (Southern US accent) I'v excised the demon! This car is now clear!

<Reuben>: I feel like when you stomp the throttle in Blighter, it's like you've startled an old man!

Didn't realize there were tabs at the top to see the different Revisions.
Now I know exactly how many of my revision their were.
Thanks

Less RS RAs than internet legend normally suggests. Interesting that there's no Rev A RAs. I'm sure I read somewhere there was supposed to be 100 rev A's and were built without the close ratio box. Best info I've seen so far on build numbers.

I think it's because they don't have their own applied model code. Just like the V1 WRX STi instead of being built as an STi car from the get go they were normal Type R pulled from production line and modified. If I had the chassis number for one I could then see how many cars were built in exactly the same spec but without that it's not easy to figure out.

Another RA tidbit.

60 Rev C and 30 rev D were black.

Interesting, yes that would make sense.

There was a black Rev C for sale on trademe a few months back, the only one I have ever seen.

I have never been able to get FAST to work, can you look up say engine serial numbers etc?

From what I've researched/read/heard or made up, I think the first run of RS RA's were actually badged as RS-R and then changed to RS RA in 1990. So technically there were no 1989 RA's.
But as I said this may be wrong, damn internet and all its useless info.

Yep that's what I'd imagine happened.

Can't look up engine numbers on fast. Only chassis numbers.

Can find out other cool stuff with the databases though.

Was over 400 Rev A VZ BFA in exactly the same spec as the missus wagon. (Applied model, colour code, option code)

On the other end of the spectrum only 4 Rev C BG5 GT the same as mine.

Anyway you could get build numbers for the early Impreza's? My parts guy at the local Subaru dealer just got what we think is a V1 STi wagon, but neither of us could see where the build numbers were stored on fast... I said I thought it was 400 sedans, and 400 wagons, but I'm not sure.

It's tricky though, his only says WRX, not STi, but if you recall, the V1 STi's were not a production car, they literally took running WRX's off the assembly line, took em over to STi, and did some parts swapping! Early days eh..,

Build numbers aren't stored per se. I've gone through the databases and searched instances of specific applied model codes. I have gone through GC/GF wrx variants just haven't made it pretty. V1 sti unfortunately as they are isn't something easily confirmed with fast. Potentially option code may be a give away but would need a few confirmed/suspected vehicles to say for sure.

Yeah from what we've seen, they didn't re-vin the 1's, so they still have the WRX 58D applied model number
