So looking at possibly upgrading the rear subframe in my BF Type RS build. Wanting to know differences between subframes (if any). Like V1-6 WRX/STI, or maybe Late model BG GTB? Should I just keep the standard one?
I will also be looking into gusseting the subframes where I can for less flex as it is a wagon! Or is this a bad idea??

v1234 same, v56 different. Not sure on the differences but I know sway bar mounts n stuff change a bit. I have a v5 front n rear sitting in the garage if you need any photos or over chch come have a look

Any chance you could take a couple photos and flick them to me on FB, mainly of where the diff sits and stuff. That be awesome! Ill be over your ways next month so Ill have to pop in and say gidday!

GD is the holy grail, if you can pick one up. The biggest changes between all the subframes is the diff mounting style. You may need to get some rear diff mount studs to suit what subframe you go with.

But yes, change subframe, non turbo BC/BF subframes are soggy shit.

Just its got less flex so a better design, if your going to be strengthening it anyway i would just get a bg one and do all your shit to it with new bushes

Yeah, just more rigid. Welding some bars on it will do the same effect. But the GD stuff is like a double skin, they are solid as fuck.

Another thing you can do is rear subframe locking bolts, which take up the play in the rear subframe mount bushes.

As for the front, meh, k-brace and you're good.

Locking bolts in the rear i felt zero difference. K brace felt like it made no difference. only thing that has made a difference that I could tell was coilovers. everything else i feel its a placebo.

I already have a K brace. Im still undecided if i want to go to coilovers in the wagon. Will probably just get a BG subframe and beef it up. And will also cuatom build a rear strut brace

How do the gc/gf rear subframes compare to the bg

Mr fancy. Taking up slack in the system. I take it most of those bushes were from the donor parts?

Bushes are from all over the show. Bust just standard ones
