Hi again guys,

98 STI Coupe Front Seats

My link

Will I need to modify anything to the front rails in my car to fit these or are these an all easy straight swap?

I searched for any topics relating to the seat on clubsub but hasn't come up with anything, I can't remember for the life of me if I read it before on clubsub!!

Cheers - again!!

As long as they are on the factory rails they should bolt straight up.

Can't recall if anyone who did the GDB into BC5 interior swap has had to use lower rails or not...I have a funny feeling THOSE are the direct swap.

Either way, there are two kinds of Impreza seats: GC8 (with nearly flat rails), and GDB (with super duper raised rails).

I have GDBs in my GC8... your head touches the roof!! :lolz:

If BC5s have the same setup as GC8s you're fine, and I have seen it done before...just not sure about what happens with the rails. If they're more like the GDBs, you'll sit a bit low but they still bolt up.

Can't hurt to whack 'em in and see. :D

The coupe seats use lower rails in comparison to the normal sti ones, I can't fit my amps under my seats as I would in a normal STI; however the rails can be interchanged.

Ben has fitted Ver 3/4 STi seats to his BC5 legacy, seems to be direct bolt in

Cheers guys, hmm

That auction seems like a good deal, because there's a similar set on TM but the blueish ones I think they're ver7/8 but then i'd probably have the issue you guys pointed out about the red ones....

Hmmm, what to do??

Thanks guys.

Blue with black = GDB. If the blue goes up the side bolsters it's version 7. If the bolsters are black and the pad between the thighs is also black, it's version 8. If those two bits (up the bolsters, between the legs) are made of RIDGED black material, they are ver9/10.

If they are blue ALL OVER they're some fancy GC8 seat ;)

Whatever you do, if it doesn't wanna, you can moogie other rails onto 'em :D

Pray for GDB seats!!! Sooooo much nicer than other years to ride in.

But I have been known to be a wee tad partial to cardigan wearing so I love my comfort!

The GDB seats will bolt in however they will sit much higher than standard unless you modifiy the rails, as those seats don't fit directly onto the older seat rails, blue and black seat mount on the sides to the rails where the red and black told onto the top

The red and black seats work a treat, nothing needs doing expect bolting then in and enjoying the new seats. I have a set out of a version 4 sti coupe and are so comfortable for everyday use

The coupe seats use lower rails in comparison to the normal sti ones, I can't fit my amps under my seats as I would in a normal STI; however the rails can be interchanged.

Ben has fitted Ver 3/4 STi seats to his BC5 legacy, seems to be direct bolt in

Hi Guys,
Sorry to drag up this old post,
Just wanting to make sure WRX Coupe seats have different height rails to the same STI sedan seats.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
Can you swap out the rails if they are?Whats the approx height difference if so?
Cheers
