Renewing a WOF - what's the effective date?

Not for me, but for someone I know who asked me, and I wasn't sure.

When you renew a WOF, is the new date meant to be 6 months from the previous expiry date, or 6 months from the date it's renewed?

it will be 6 months from day renewed.

Or if the old WOF doesn't expire for a while, up to 2 weeks more is added to the new WOF, but this doesn't happen automatically. It's up to the WOF inspector.
