Right Boostin and I have had a chat and as Wellington are doing workshop days we thought we could do the same up here.

I'm happy to donate my race car for a few things or if you car needs something done we can do it on yours,

I've got to hear wrap my headers and up pipe before the September track day (ideally I want it all done ASAP) so we can look at it two ways,

1st. Turbo removal and drop headers or,

2nd. Pull motor out, with this option you can see how easy engine removal is once you know how to do it, with it out we can also look at rocker cover gaskets, rear crank seal and kidney plate, also if we have time removal and put back on a Cambelt.

I would be looking at doing this during june sometime at my workshop, if you come along to learn you won't be watching you will be getting your hands dirty and doing it under our guidance, it's the only way to learn, trust me it's how I did my first trans swap with wiretap...

So who would be keen to do this? And any dates in particular that you would like?

If there's enough people I'll put on a BBQ plus brews

*edit* I think this is my longest post I have ever done and my thumbs hurt!!

Sat 23rd motor pull + gaskets

This is why you use a keyboard :P can use all your fingers then

I love the sound of it. I'd happily put my car up for anything to be done, but I dunno what would be good to show! :lolz:

What an awesome idea. Great location for it too. And I imagine you HAVE, but keep my compressor lurking for all this auto work :D Not much use down the hall.

(Unrelated: any chance my keys can be left central somewhere? :P)

Speaking of BBQs etc, in the near future DOBC might have the funds to sponsor food to put on the BBQ. Just to make these events even more worthwhile (as if learning new stuff wasn't wicked enough!).

I'm happy to donate my car for:

- New Rotors front and rear
- Fitting 4pot calipers
- Fitting pads
- Fitting braided brake line
- Changing brake fluid
- Fitting suspension

I can prove a few brews for the day ;)

Would just need to get my calipers refurbished, buy new brake pads and have my struts regreased before I opt it all in.

You don't think you're going to get a 'free ride' on this right? Even if you're donating your car you can't just stand back and watch :)

Also, I'm quite happy to donate some time to this, but I won't be getting my hands dirty :P

[20:30:58] <Pelvin> what are the handbrake shoes? are they only fitted on the rear?

Why would I expect a free ride? I've done everything else on the car myself, but when it comes to braking it's something I'd require someone with a bit of knowledge to help me out.

I'm still keen, later in June suits me best as I've got exams and no life in the first half of June. I can probably bring a kg or 2 of bacon for the bbq since my new work has only paid me in bacon and eggs so far

Sounds good! My rocker covers will need doing eventually and this is a good opportunity to learn something, so I'm in.

Sounds good, Will be good too see the differences between doing SOHC and DOHC gaskets.

I have about 8kg of bacon in my freezer so will put aside 1kg for the workshop day.(I get paid in real monies next week so can spare bacons)
