just a bit of an update on the waic to fmic conversion I started on CS a while ago........

when I did the engine mounts 2day I had the top mount off so decided to start lining up the ic piping for welding. I got the passenger side all taped up ready for welding. I'm happy with the fit so far.

I thought you were going the other way?? To get rid of the 180 deg bend straight off the turbo?

I'm taking notes anyway. :D

ohhh yeah that was plan A....decided against that 1 but now I cant remember why lol. I've reduced the restricted flow effect of the 90 degree elbow off the turbo by using a long radius one.........much smoother flow than short radius 90 degree elbow

It might a little bit. Not enough to worry about though. It's not like you have the normal 50m of intercooler piping with the off-the-shelf kits.

Got any better shots of how that BOV fits in there?

looks like it's all going nicely, good to see a bit of custom work - rather than an off-the-shelf product; mine wasn't a perfect fit either..

Cold air box is made of win, and the complete stocker stealth look...I love it!! Doesn't look like it was attacked with a chainsaw unlike so many around. Great stuff boys!! This car is kinda a DOBC posterboy at this point eh!

Yeah that install has retained the stealth look - car still looks stock, a very good basis for those considering this on their old school RS legacys.

Maybe it's something I should have considered, but I don't think that would work on a WRX, the bumpers don't suit it.

Avoid those cheap trademe kits though, my 'IFR performance' one wasn't really a nice fit - some of the pipes had to be cut and modified, and even then the intercooler sits out bottom of bumper - hence the bumper had to be cut more than necessary!

Also it doesn't look stock
