What's NOT on camera is my dry-retching off in the background during the first attempt :lolz: With that epic roar, of course...DEM FUMES.

So many FFFFFF in the process, but you and I Jase...we learned heaps :D Brofist.

+1 to learning, good fun getting to work on a first gen engine bay and learn some of their... quirks :P. *Brofists*

Great stuff guys!!!

I must admit there are huge differences between a modern wrx versus a classic legacy. And bits are in totally different places :D

HUGE differences indeed. So many damn fiddly bits! And my poor girl brain dies to death trying to get around it all. Gets better with each working day on the stupid thing though :P

Still, the WRX doesn't have that same battle-happy rasp that the old girls do. That creamy roar is lovely, but the 20G snarl is the sound of rally. :)

Yarp. Just gotta get it properly road-worthy and it's getting booted out of storage, over to Silvia Park for compliance, and gets shoved up the road at Rosepark where it belongs :D

Yup.

Make sure the brakes are all in good condition, ie. reasonably new pads and discs, and give the engine bay and underneath the steam clean of it's life.

Brakes and tyres were apparently replaced by previous owner for compliance attempt, so they're pretty much unused. Will check condition before it goes off there :) And yeah it absolutely needs a steam cleaning from hell :D Grubby Legacy is grubby, and a veritable zoo for 8-legged wildlife.

Warm engine up to operating temp - leave running. Spray engine bay completely in foaming degreaser. Wait a few mins. Hose off. Works wonders. Haven't had any problems with this method. Comes out clean as a baby's bum.

Unless firewall bungs are missing and water enters into cabin.

I thought the 2.2 would have enough torque for towing, it's prob more the slipping of clutch being an issue - unless it's auto...

I need to practise some towing, seeing as I now have a towbar, a nice solid one too.

Is the 2.2 N/A much lighter than a BF5 or BC5?
