Might not be a CD...I pulled an open deck out of my facelift BC, which was a virgin engine too o.O

I think the RS-R is the lightweight model, Oscar had one he was gonna use as a trackcar - but that resulted in fail... :x

It had wind-up windows IIRC, no factory sound deadening, and about 100kg or so lighter than the normal RS - just needed a cage and it was good to go

But I could be wrong there

This may just be my feeling, but if you think you may be wrong.. why try advise? If you are wrong then you're just filling this guy with useless information LOL

Yeah I think I am wrong. The RS-R was a limited 'STI modified' Japanese release in 1991

Offering thoughts, even wrong ones, often stimulates debate from people with such a vehicle, and people like Kamineko who have done huge amounts of homework and come to the party.

Don't get me wrong there's often ensuing RAAAAAAGE in the process of getting the facts out  But at the end of the day, if the correct information comes to the fore, we've all learned something new...and it's something that can later be archived here and on the WikiBaru that's going to become a bit of a sister project. In a perfect world, someone asks a question...chances are there'll be a wee bit of debate until someone finds the confirmed and completed link.

Speaking of details. Do the RS-R and RS-RA have the same motor? Or is the RS-RA motor the special one?

fucked if I know..... but if the RS RA is the same as BC5RA's (on CS) then i believe they were lightly ported at the factory with a few other tweaks I have forgotten :D

Yah there's some porting and a few other magic things that happened for certain in the RS-RA...think the manifold got some work too IIRC. Not sure of the specifics either. Just wondering if the RS-R got them as well :3

I *think* the RS-R got the RA body but RS running gear. A bit like a WRX-RA and a STI-RA. Don't quote me on that though....

This is new information. I hadn't realised that the WRX engines were aircooled . . .

Lolz love it when people (like me! :lolz:) know half of it, but not all of it...and come out with gems like that.

I have the same setup in my Legacy; kept the WAIC instead of using the normal WRX intercooler...but I wouldn't have expressed it like THAT :lolz:

Leonidas' dirty southern brother maybe? Leo was a facelift parts car destined for the crusher the next day. Could always go for a 2.0... ;)

Reason #1: it's $1.00 reserve,
Reason #2: at my best bet i'd say it's yours for $300 if somebody is bidding against you, & that's not alot
Reason #3: you buy it so i dont end up with another one ;)
Reason #4: there is no motor or g/box so will be easier to push onto a trailer, & also move around your section to mow around :lolz:

I bet there are heaps more reasons. But this is my last one It's a BC5 :wut:
