Auto or manual, At the wheels or engine?
Engine power is around the 180kw mark - My Forester (Auto) was dyno'd stock at 128.4kw at the wheels. Slightly different engine but pretty much the same power output from what I gather

Manual, coming from the engine. I get sick of reading this stuff off the internet claiming to have 280hp, when it doesnt feel that way. Just wanted to clarify, a friend of mine is saying his stock RSK B4 has 280hp. Just want to be pointed in the correct path. Highly appreciated guys!

But that was brand new, and optimistic. My guess is you are looking at a real world figure of around 130kw at the wheels. That's the figure that matters. Everyone can claim to have 30 gazillion engine kw but big drivetrain losses due to the 4WD setup, but in reality the drivetrain loss is around 10 - 15kw. It's not a percentage figure.

Your right at the wheel is what matters. I've just had a lot of people claiming that my WRX has 280hp just didnt feel it was right, I had the chance to go in a 230kw at the wheel track car an that would blow my beloved Impreza away. Thanks for the info all!! Don't want to be speaking false info!!

My WRX motor plonks along at 135kW at the wheels. It happens to be in a BF5, but the powertrain is newer than the car.

Ryan's right on the new, and optimistic front. But, ultimately, it doesn't matter too much what the actual figure is but how effectively the vehicle and the driver uses it.

Best thing we can do is look at a DOBC dyno day once we have 20-ish cars for such an event, and get a once-and-for-all answer :)

Thanks for the info!, have to agree fully with you on the driver and how well he/she knows their machine and how to use it! A dyno day would be great, is there anyone in particular you use?? Anyone heard of Gary Capper, great guy! does a lot of power runs for other subaru clubs in the past.

And can someone recall if Manual V3/4 WRX wagons got an EJ20G, or 20K? I'm pretty sure the unlike their manual sedan brothers, they got 20G's... I'm sure the STi wagon is was the only 20K wagon.

We pretty much always dyno at GCP, which is now with Possum Bourne Motorsport :) So yah, we know him :D

Have seen a mixture of 20G and 20K in the version 3. That's possibly a question for Gerald XD

Someone in Welli had their stock WRX Ver5 RA dyno'd last weekend. 170-ish kW ATW. Only mods being the exhaust, stock turbo and air box.

I consider that to be quite a good base figure, prior to any mods.

QYKCHK's 98 STI was dynoed last year at Keith Stewart's hub dyno.
Hers is pretty much stock. Still has Cat downpipe and all stock under bonnet.
Original engine and has done 170,000kms. She did 164kw at the wheels
