hello dudes and dudettes. Im from southland and have just come into possesion of a bc5 legacy woop woop. Im planning to stick a standard ej20t out of a wrx into it and upgrade the drive line, brakes and suspension to handle the turbo. so far i have bought a gc8 diff , the ratio is 4.111. if i cant find a 4.111 gear box im going to do a rwd set up. im going to get gc8 brakes suspension and engine mounts. after i save up enough money once ive done the conversion im going to putting all forged internals and do some head work. and bigger turbo and a full link wire in ecu.

Sounds like an epic project :D Glad to see the love is spreading!

I'd say try the AWD first, you will probably fall in love. RWD has gotten many a Subie driver into a sticky situation. Besides, we have DCCD ;) Better than RWD as you still have the front paws, but it can be IMMENSELY tail-happy on the carpet. Just...a wee bit spency; the boxes came on select cars only.

yeah sadly i USED to own a ver 5 sti. was a cool car. till the day i decided to try be keen block but it ended on its roof. i had a few tears in my eyes that day. and since then ive been driving a gtt caldina. but its just something bout the subaru that you fall in love with. and that why ive decided to go start a project bc5 because i like the shape and want to have another subaru. and this time im not going to be keeping all four wheels connected to the ground.

Lol smooth... it's a hard one to learn, especially with an STi! I couldn't go on if my Impreza was damaged to that degree :(

Luckily should you feel like stretching the ol' gal's legs a bit and learning something new, there's a ClubSUB megameet coming up at Ruapuna in Christchurch come April next year - a bit closer to you than the last few events, which have been Manfeild and Taupo.

Certainly isn't too late for a hoodie! Which is a friendly reminder to the folks that have forgotten to reply to their PMs to please do so :brows: Lemme know what you're after, I'm looking at sending the orders off late this week/early next week if possible cuz I'm sick of this particular order haunting my dreams x__X

If you follow Ken Block on his WRC campaigns, ending up on your roof is more or less where he ends up as well. So you did pretty well in your attempt.

Pull your handbrake just enough so the light comes on. That sends the ECU into full race mode.
