I've heard rumours the turbo is 1.6L....

Apparently the new FB engine is not suitable for turbocharging.

1.6T would allow them to get into WRC again when the new rules come in wouldn't it?

That'll be great to see if its the case. Gotta say I haven't paid attention to the new WRC rules for a long time though

I thnk the "flared arches" are too high and make the wheels look tiny. The extanded arch section should be no more than a couple of inches. Front looks very in keeping with new Legacy. At this stage I would say no to having one. Yet, I said that to the bugeye when it came it, the V10, and the hatch back; all of which I would snap up.

Yeah, I've thought "what were they THINKING???" with every model of Impreza since the first . . . . yet they have all grown on me with time.

Not 100% on good terms with the bugeye despite how nice Mum's car looks, and never bonded with the v10. Despite the hatches, and now this. Call me unable to change from the times, but I'm unable to differentiate the Impreza from a high-performance 'sports' car. The latest look awfully Hyundai-like with a side of Nissan Commuter...and environmental/techno wank aside, the reduced displacement doesn't rev my engine.

I'm sure it'll work and I'm sure it'll sell, but Wordpress templates sell and work also. Doesn't stop them from being soulless templates :lolz: So it'll be another thumbs-down from me, too. The poor thing just looks tamed down, beaten and stripped of its title.

Shale, so young, yet so cynical . . . . Posted Image

I feel the same way about a lot of modern cars (and bikes for that matter) which is why my shed is full of 1970s cars and bikes, and also why my favorite Subaru is celebrating its 20th birthday next year Posted Image

It DOES look like a Legacy!! Which looks like a Maxima and a Camry. Hurrrrrrrr generic.

And yes...I am certainly cynical :D It's what I do best. (I'm also a designer, so I love to bitch things out on the smallest details XD)

Either way, I would probably own one if given the chance, most likely the hatch/wagon which I prefer the ass of + slightly more practical. I'm sure the looks will grow like many have said.

Probably won't have much character like our old beauties though. All driver aids and whatnot.

Blame the styling on all the hippies in governments around the world dictating that cars are a hazard to pedestrians and they should be designed to cause as little damage to peds as possible, hence all new cars look like Toyota Camrys <_<

What sort of power do the new engines put out/what cc are they?

Shale, your just bitter and Stubborn as they come, lol,

the look is the way the future leads us, Hopefully there will be a STI version that looks good.

the one part I do not like is the box on the back, can they not make a bumper round any more?

Subaru caught cancer a couple years back, first symptom was the tribeca, then the hatch STi was a sign of things not quite right. By the time the Gen 5 came out, subaru was pretty much on it's death bed... I do believe i just whitened subaru die with this latest abomination....

It has. It's still a land whale, but I digress.

On the one hand, Subaru complain that no one really knows what a Subaru is. On the other hand, they refuse to look back in time to see if anyone ever did, and if there are groups that still do. They have forgotten the BC/GC, and they have ignored the countless communities like ours that still fly the flag - albeit the old one. They have tunnel vision, only chasing the middle-aged white guy with money to burn, and his wife - the same target every other car manufacturer in the world chases, aside from maybe Hyundai and Tata. Why join the scrum when you can nip around, break out wide and score a try while everyone else is still fumbling for the ball?

A bit of a no-brainer for my bitter, twisted, stubborn self - if you destroy your hard-earned brand identity, change your products beyond recognition and merge with another marque in a blatant and confusing manner - OF COURSE no one knows who the fuck you are. :lolz:
