Hi everyone, I am looking for a Legacy RSRA and would like to have everyone keep an eye out for me. I have two possibilities, for now the most ideal situation would be to find parts of one as now I have so much Invested into my BC6 and because I can not import one I would like to find one that is really a rough car and take and use everything except the shell. This means A high mileage car that has been used on a daily basis with some rust etc but with all the parts would be great. Second option would be to find the following parts: doors, intercooler and pump etc. intake, dash with the 7500 rpm redline display, gearbox, diff rear panel on trunk between tail lights that has type ra on it and any other specific parts I could find. I would be interested in a complete original car, but still need to come up with parts for my current project. I know it's a very long shot but if you guys see any come up please let me know.

Also for those on here that own one please let me know and any pictures you can post to the thread of the cars would be great, I would like to see pictures of undercarriage guards and engine bay and any other "specific to" parts.

I apologize for broken up post, having a few issues with my phone. I also wanted to add that I know this Idea might Upset some people and I have already had comments made about it in the U.S. I would do the project right and build a car that would be very close to factory specs but with a few changes to make it unique.

Hey mate,

Check out my thread in the Gargage section http://www.dirtyolbc...23-the-ra-hack/ its has a few pics etc on my RSRA if you haven't already seen it. Also I would be more than happy to help out with any pics you need next time I am back in nz.

There is also a guy on here with the username of BC5RA and he really knows his stuff about the RA's and has a mint example as well.

And last but not least if the chinese whispers are correct there are apparently a few RA's sitting around in the South Island in barns and what not. But it will be a matter of finding out who knows where they are and if they are willing to let the cat out of the bag on them.

That TradeMe one is familiar. Both OP and I tried to contact him, and no dice. Doesn't seem to want to sell it.

I can see a few people losing it over chopping an RS-RA up for another project, but I guess if it's f*cked it's better than it all rotting back into the earth. There are a lot of ruined ones out there, and it breaks all our hearts. Best going into something we know will see glory.

Meh, folks can vent all they like but if you buy the car legitimately, you're free to do whatever you want with it. Posted Image

Remember the Monster Garage episode where Jesse James bought a mint, fully restored El Camino ute and converted it into a figure-8 circuit race car? (It got snotted in its first event BTW!)

During that episode, he freely admitted that there'd be folks all over the USA crying into their beer watching a valuable, collectible vehicle getting cut up, but as he said, most of the discarded parts were available for enthusiasts to purchase but more importantly, the remaining cars had just gone up in value because there was now one less of them left . . . .

Yes, no valuable good example will be getting cut up here. One that has been well used up and messed around with would be the plan. I definately would not be interested in removing a good one from the few that. Are around. I would like to get my hands on a mint one just to park next to the 22B :) but at the present time my focus has turned to getting the current Legacy finished. I would like to hear of any RSRA that becomes available though just in case we find the perfect collector car for me to drive while in N.Z
The guy with the RSRA on trademe was emailing me and discussing the car and sent photos, then I made an offer and no one can get hold of him since. That car was actually owned by a farmer before he had it and it had dent in door and rocker panel , 200,000 plus ks on the odo so it was more of the type of car I was looking for because it wouldnt be the best for completete restoration.

Hey the best way to look at it is that it is going to go into a very nice extremely rare U.S.DM Turbo Legacy shell. I would use everything I could if I found the right car. It would be a worthy car for the rsra parts. I would make you guys proud I promise. It would get the EJ20 engine that I am building and I would use all the intake etc. I would go through the original engine and put it aside maybe someone else would need it for their RSRA project. Point is there would be no streetracer nothing like original car, It would be more like an RSRA with a few minor changes, one of the changes being the bodyshell :)

Pretty much :) As I said, it's all parts going into a car that's going to be done properly. Some once-wonderful cars are not salvageable enough, and if the BC6 is essentially playing shell donor, brilliant. I guess in a strange way, an RS-RA is living on! :D

the local 1 has a version 2 wrx motor in now, i think the only decent rs-ra part would be the badge, its spray can black on the roof bonnet and boot, front bumper has been hacked up for the FMIC and theres not a straight panel on the car, dont see it much but dam its a shame

I think I have seen that car on Internet, can not say for sure but the description reminded me of one I had seen on trademe. It sucks to see the good parts removed and front mount fitted etc. I found a facelift RSRA earlier this year and it had Wrx engine fitted but it had the original with it. I was never able to get a response on that car either. Truth is I really need a car that has major problems or been crashed or something along those lines so I can rescue and use all the good parts. I would even plan to use the wiring looms for chassis as well because my car has every power option available on this planet......time for old BC6 to go on a RSRA diet!

This car is definately the car I want. I have had several people try and contact the guy. His name is Abe coffin does anyone know him or what the deal is with the car? I think he might have sold it as it seems odd no one can get in touch with him. Any info regarding this legacy would be great. Thanks

Can anyone give me the part number for rsra intercooler and the lines and pump that would be nrcessary for that set up. Also I am thinking about a six speed gearbox, is there a version ra wrx close ratio box that would fit the EJ20 enjine it has only four bolt pattern, and fit in the Legacy?
I am starting to think of other options for my legacy rather than getting rsra to complete the project. I guess the thing I would like the most would be to have the gold colored intercooler and the intake manifold. My legacy also has power seatbelts that I want to remove and fit regular seatbelts. Does anyone have any really good condition seatbelts from a Legacy? I can't find any here yet, I do not like the belts we have that move on a track when the door opens, getting rid of them should remove more weight also

What revision number? Some of the part numbers change between revisions.

Any 6 speed up to 2006 will fit. You just use 4 of the bolt holes instead of 8/9/10.
